6 M-rated Lego videogames coming out soon

Following the success of "Lego Batman" and "Lego Indiana Jones" this year, not to mention the "Lego Star Wars" series the past few years, it's no surprise that developer Traveller's Tales is sticking with the little colored blocks.

But it's taking them in a new direction. Dateline Hollywood has exclusively obtained information on the next six Lego-branded video games in the works, and they're not the kid-friendly franchises that gamers have come to expect. Instead, Traveller's Tales has licensed a number of adult-oritented movies and is adapting them into its first slate of M-rated Lego videogames.

Sawv 6. Lego Saw V

Torture porn is actually a better match with Lego than you might think. "You use the Lego blocks to build all sorts or gruesome weapons that you use to inflict brutal, unending pain on the people who have wronged you," a source working on the game tells us. The game's design documents mention a three-pronged Lego razor blade that can be inserted in all of the body's orifices simultaneously, as well as a rusty chainsaw that descends on a pendulum toward a trapped victim, though our source tells us there are hundreds more possibilities to use Lego blocks for torture.

Sex and the City Wii videogame revealed!

Sexcitygamebottom_2 Dateline Hollywood has uncovered exclusive details on the videogame tie-in to the "Sex and the City" movie coming out later this month.

The title will be available exclusively for Nintendo's Wii and is being developed and published by Rockstar, the company behind the ultra popular "Grand Theft Auto IV." It will be rated M for "intense sexuality."

The main character of the "Sex and the City" game will be Kim Catrall's Samantha. Players assist in her quest to bed 100 men before she turns 50 without developing any life threatening sexually transmitted diseases.

"We're very excited about the innovative ways players can use the motion sensing Wii controller to simulate Samantha's sexual life and earn bonus points for pulling off special 'finishing moves,'" said Rockstar president Sam Houser. "Let's just say that the Wii-mote will be going places it has never been before.

"Sex and the City: the Videogame" will also allow players to go online, where they must spread the STD of their choice -- options include herpes, gonorrhea, crabs, and HIV -- to as many other others as possible in under five minutes.

Grand Theft Auto IV blamed for low ratings of Today Show fourth hour

Gtabox While all of Hollywood is buzzing over whether the launch of huge videogame "Grand Theft Auto IV" will impact "Iron Man's" box office this weekend, the producers of "The Today Show's" new fourth hour starring Kathie Lee Gifford say they're feeling the impact.

"We've all been surprised that the ratings for the compelling new addition to 'Today' starring me, one of America's most beloved TV stars, haven't been better," Gifford told Dateline Hollywood. "But I just read an article about that 'Grand Theft Auto Show' game and how it's distracting audiences and it makes total sense. What other explanation could there be why my show isn't a big Gifford_kathie_lee_02hit?!"

Asked whether such a scenario would be unlikely given the predominantly young male audience that  plays videogames and the mostly female demographic watching TV late in the morning, Gifford declined to explain the connection.

"All I know is that someone said videogames are a way to explain any movie or TV show that isn't succeeding and I completely agree," she stated.
