Emmys set ratings record in AMC employee demographic
The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced that this year's Emmy Awards set an all-time ratings record in households where one or more adults work for the AMC Network.
"We're beyond thrilled at this unprecedented 350% surge in viewership," said Academy chairman John Shaffner. "It's a testament to the hard work of the entire television creative community that more AMC employees tuned in this year than ever before."
Shaffner said that the tremendous ratings growth amongst AMC employees was a more useful statistic in judging success of this year's Emmy Awards than the 83% drop in viewership amongst HBO employees and overall 46% decline across the nation.
I'm one of those that didn't watch. Listening to the political jabs of actors, aimed at all things conservative, makes the event unbearable - so last night I didn't bear it.
Do actors not realize that their rabid liberal views taint their images to the degree that conservative can't forget them when watching the actor play a role. I use to see a movie at a theatre once a week, now it is once a year. I only follow one TV show: "The Closer". I realize Kyra is a liberal, but she doesn't make a point of rubbing our noses in it.
To the rest of the actors out there, you might keep it in mind that your political jabs depreciate the value of your product.
