5 rejected Star Wars video game concepts

With the release of “The Force Unleashed,” which has already sold over 1.5 million units, videogame publisher LucasArts is riding high. But coming up with the idea for a hit “Star Wars” game isn’t as easy as it looks. Dateline Hollywood has gotten its hands on this exclusive list of five “Star Wars” videogame ideas that were tested by LucasArts, but ultimately rejected. Several feature crudely photoshopped “concept art” created by Lucas to help inspire prototype designers.

Cookingchewbacca

5. Cooking Chewbacca

In this competitor to the hit Wii kitchen simulator “Cooking Mama,” everybody’s favorite Wookie teaches players how to whip up some of his favorite dishes. Using the Wii-mote, players simulate slicing, mincing, and baking to produce meals like Kashyyk Larvae Pie and Diced Ewok Stew.

Tradefed

4. SimTradeFederation

This videogame brings to life the most exciting moment from any “Star Wars” film: The Trade Federation’s attempt to blockade the planet Naboo in “The Phantom Menace.” Acting as the Supreme Commander of the Trade Federation, players get to control import and export tariffs, custom agent assignments, and even negotiations with Queen Amidala. Do you have what it takes to keep the people of Naboo from getting their weekly supply of ice from the planet Hoth?

3. Ani May Cry

Relive the sequence from “Attack of the Clones” where Anakin Skywalker and Senator Padme Amidala fall in love in this thrilling romance simulation. Can you lean over a railing seductively? Giggle while rolling around in grass at just the right pace? Playfully use the Force during dinner in a way that will turn on a member of the Galactic Senate? Then you might just be able to win "Ani May Cry."

Guitarheroewoks

2. Guitar Hero: Ewoks Edition

This exclusive expansion pack for “Guitar Hero: World Tour” was going to feature 38 different arrangements of the famous Ewoks song from the end of “Return of the Jedi.” Always wants sing “yub yub,” or play along on guitar, bass or drums? This game offer the song in jazz, heavy metal, country western, and Japanese operatic forms!

Cod4jarjar

1. Call of Duty: Modern Jar-Jar

Jar-Jar Binks may be known as slapstick-prone, arguably racist comic relief in the first three “Star Wars” chapters. But this videogame shows his tough and gritty side from his days in the Gungan Grand Army. Players control Jar-Jar as he kills thousands of enemy soldiers from a break-away Gungan clan. Featuring over 40 different types of booma’s, floppy ear-to-floppy ear melee combat, and intense vehicle levels in those underwater bubble things.

haha this is halarious. nice.

HeyItsThatGuy

The Jar-Jar/Call of Duty game would be too easy. It would be impossible to die, because of his tendency to trip over at opportune moments in order to avoid danger.

I thought Cooking with Chewie would be nice if you like having hair in your food. Oh and how about a new X-wing/Tie Fighter sim game. I am still waiting...
